Did you know that if you own a Nintendo Switch, a Switch Lite, or a Switch OLED, you can try out some cool features? While the Nintendo Switch has been out for a while, some of its features are so specific that most players are unaware of their existence. We conducted a survey to determine how many of these minor features go unnoticed by Slashbeats readers.

It is not an exaggeration to say that the Nintendo Switch has been a huge success. Total Switch sales surpassed 103 million in February 2022, putting it on par with some of the best consoles of all time. Switch owners can choose from a variety of “Pokémon” games as well as the well-known “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.” Both of these franchises will soon see new installments, which may drive Switch sales even higher. “Pokémon Scarlet” and “Pokémon Violet” will be available on November 18, 2022, while “The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom” will be available on May 12, 2023.

Did you know your Nintendo Switch can do these things?

We asked our readers to fill out a survey to find out which features of the Nintendo Switch receive the least attention. Based on responses from 611 of our readers in the United States, we discovered that the least-known Nintendo Switch feature is the one that allows your console to turn on your TV. You had no idea this was a thing? Don’t worry, because 27.66% of those polled had no idea either. While in TV Mode, you can enable the “Match TV Power State” setting. This will cause both the console and the TV to turn on and off at the same time, so your television will begin to operate at the same time as your console. A quick guide is available from Nintendo.

But there’s a close second here: 25.37% of Switch owners are unaware that your console can help you find your misplaced Joy-Cons. Navigate to the home screen of your console, then select “Controllers” and “Search for Controllers.” The missing Joy-Con will vibrate to assist you in locating it. Next, 20.95% of respondents were unaware that you can simply change your region on your console to access a game that isn’t yet available in your area.

Another 14.08% of users were unaware that you could remap the buttons on your Joy-Cons in the settings, and 11.95% were unaware that the Switch has a dark mode option to give your eyes a rest. It’s a good idea to dig around in your Switch settings; you might find some unexpected gems buried among the less-than-exciting options.
