Google has given its fans a sneak peek at what to expect at the upcoming Pixel 7 event. The upcoming conference’s date and time were also announced, along with a 10-second video showing flashes of products that could be featured. Google’s yet-to-be-released technology is similar to recent releases from Apple and Samsung, which could be interpreted as a statement of intent.

Last month, Samsung held its annual Galaxy Unpacked event, and the South Korean company’s line of folding phones took center stage. The flagship Galaxy Z Fold 4 was unveiled, which features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor and a larger battery capacity. Another phone has been added to Samsung’s less expensive, but still “flagship-priced” flip series. The improved cover screen was the main selling point of the Galaxy Flip 4. Aside from smartphones, the company has expanded its wearable technology portfolio. The Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro were unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked, and they are direct competitors to Apple’s own smartwatches.

Samsung also released a second edition of the Samsung Galaxy Buds Pro, an android alternative to Apple’s Air Pod Pro earbuds. Apple’s big event this week is expected to revolve around the unveiling of the iPhone 14. According to rumors, the new iPhone 14 family will include the base phone, a more powerful “pro” variant, as well as the larger iPhone 14 Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max. There may be a notable absence, as it is widely assumed that Apple will not release an iPhone 14 Mini. The eighth generation of Apple Watch is also expected to be unveiled at the event on Wednesday, September 7.

What we’re expecting to see at Google’s event

It’s easy to draw parallels between major hardware releases from Samsung, Apple, and now Google. Google’s brief teaser showed glimpses of what appeared to be a smartwatch, a pair of earbuds, and some smartphones. The teaser concludes with the hashtag #MadeByGoogle and the words October 6, 2022, 10 a.m. ET — the date and time of Google pixel event. More information will most likely be released prior to the conference, but even though the teaser was brief, it corresponded very well with some of the rumors circulating about Google’s upcoming devices.

It’s almost certainly the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, or both. The unveiling of Google’s new flagship smartphones is expected to be the event’s main attraction. According to rumors, the new smartphones will have a faster, more efficient processing chip and Android 13. The new phone’s front-facing camera may also set the standard for smartphone security.

Google is not only competing with the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy series, but it is also competing in the smartwatch market. The rounded smartwatch seen briefly in Google’s video is the Pixel Watch, which, like the Pixel 7, was teased during I/O 2022. The Pixel watch will be compatible with a wide range of devices, including Android phones and smart homes. Google’s reveal also includes a pair of wireless earbuds, though details on these next-generation audio blasters are scarce.

What we probably won’t see

Along with its smartwatch, wireless earbuds, and standard smartphone, there are rumors that Google is working on another major device. It has been working on an alternative to Samsung’s series of folding phones, despite some setbacks. Assuming no further delays, the “Google Pixel Fold” is also expected to arrive in 2023, so we are unlikely to see any significant announcements during the tech company’s google pixel event 2023

When it is released, the Google Pixel Fold has the potential to upend the foldable phone market. It is said to have a ceramic body, a 50MP camera, and a full 2K display. The phone is also expected to be powered by Tensor chips from the next generation.

There is also speculation that the device will include a dedicated periscope camera, which would be a first for the Pixel series. While more information on what could be the most exciting device Google has ever produced this year is unlikely, there is a small chance we’ll get another hint to keep us guessing. If not, we’ll have to cross our fingers and wait until the google pixel event 2023 for #MadeByGoogle.
