Google Stadia is no longer available. Google’s cloud gaming service will be discontinued in January 2023. However, before it shuts everything down, gamers who use the service must find a way to transfer their saved game files. While some games, such as Destiny 2, have built-in cross-progression, others, such as Cyberpunk 2077, require a manual transfer of the save file to another version of the game.
If you want to save your Cyberpunk 2077 save file from Google Stadia—and who wouldn’t with the latest updates and expansion announcements bringing so much life back to the game—you can follow the developers’ step-by-step guide to back up your save file and move it over to the PC version of the game.
The guide was released earlier this week by CD Projekt Red. Though Google has stated that Stadia will not be shut down until 2023, there is no guarantee that games like Cyberpunk 2077 will not be removed from the platform before then. As a result, gamers should transfer their save files as soon as possible to avoid data loss.
With that in mind, let’s go over how to transfer your save file from Stadia to the PC version of the game. Fortunately, after transferring it to your PC, you can enable cross-progression and transfer that save file to your preferred console.
How To Transfer
To begin, navigate to Google Takeout and create a new export. Before proceeding, make sure to select “Stadia” and then “Deselect all.”
Choose your preferred location to save the file and then click the “Export once” button. Before clicking “Create Export,” CD Projekt Red recommends saving the file as a.zip and selecting the “2 GB” size option.
Once the file has been exported, locate the archive on your computer and extract it to a different folder. The saved game files for Cyberpunk 2077 can be found at…/Takeout/Stadia/GAMING/GAME SAVE. CD Projekt Red also mentions that other save game files may be present. Each Cyberpunk 2077 save file will be available in a different archive, so you’ll need to extract them to separate folders.

To add the save file to the PC version of the game, navigate to %userprofile%Saved GamesCD Projekt RedCyberpunk 2077 and drag and drop the files into the folder. They should now be usable in Cyberpunk 2077 for PC.
To enable cross-progression, you must first sync the game with your GOG account and then follow the steps outlined in CD Projekt Red’s original details.
