TeamGroup Liquid Cooler Reduces Heat From the CPU and SSD

The AIO cooler is designed for faster PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSD drives that produce more heat.

TeamGroup’s new all-in-one cooler is designed to cool both the CPU and the internal SSD of a desktop PC.

According to the Taiwanese vendor, the product is the “world’s first all-in-one ARGB liquid cooling system” that reduces heat from both the CPU and the SSD (Opens in a new window).

The cooler is intended for upcoming PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSDs, which can double memory speeds over Gen 4 SSD memory but may produce even more heat. As a result, vendors such as TeamGroup have been developing beefier, but passive heatsinks for next-generation SSDs in order to keep the components cool.

The new TeamGroup AIO cooler expands on the concept by including a cooling block that can be directly connected to an internal SSD. As a result, the SSD is less likely to overheat, lowering the risk of throttling during data transfers.

“When SSDs experience rising operating temperatures at high transfer speeds, an automatic throttling mechanism is activated to protect components from heat damage,” TeamGroup explained. “When PCIe Gen5 SSDs reach speeds of over 12,000MB/s and consume 14W or more, controller temperatures will skyrocket.”


The Taiwanese manufacturer previously teased(Opens in a new window) the AIO cooler in June, stating that it is compatible with Intel’s LGA1700 motherboards as well as AMD’s upcoming AM5 systems. The waterblock is also intended to fit on the standard M.2 2280 SSD form factor.
