If you were totally surprised by this turn of events, you probably don’t know Samsung that well. Not much earlier, Samsung entered the Web or maybe led Apple to ridicule the decision of Apple to remove a charger in the packaging of the iPhone 12. Many who were more familiar with Samsung’s past only started counting down instead. Less than two months later, we’re seeing what seems to be a sign that after deriding Apple, Samsung is simply going to follow in its footsteps and launch with no chargers or headphones in its early 2021 flagship.

This wouldn’t be the first time Samsung has pulled a similar stunt. When Apple broke the headphone jack, it also joined the chorus that protested the move. Of default, Samsung’s most recent flagships don’t have the port anymore either.
Tecnoblog notes that Brazil’s Anatel National Telecommunications Agency now holds evidence that Samsung is going to do Apple again. Certification for three smartphones under the SM-G99X model numbers suggested that neither the adapter nor the headset was included in the package. While this document refers only to Brazil, it is highly likely that this will be Samsung’s global strategy.

That said the company could actually face opposition in that country and be forced to ship with the shippers there anyway. Brazil reportedly pressured Apple to include 12 boxes sold on its iPhone, arguing that it was unconvinced by Apple’s reasons for removing them in the first place. Chances are the government will ask Samsung to do the same thing.
Certification also involves some minor information on phones such as their batteries, 4,000 mAh for the Galaxy S21, 4,800 mAh for the Galaxy S21+, and 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy S21 Ultra. Currently, the records don’t mark the phones “Galaxy S21,” Suggested that it may not yet be the name of Samsung’s smartphone-less charger.
