Walmart is expanding its digital Netflix Hub to 2,400 stores, where it will sell Netflix streaming gift cards as well as merchandise from hit shows.

The Netflix Hub, according to a Walmart press release, will sell games, collectibles, and seasonal items from shows such as “Stranger Things,” “Squid Game,” “The Witcher,” “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” and others.

According to the release, the Netflix streaming gift cards are available for people who prefer not to have a credit or debit card linked to their accounts.

In addition, the Netflix Hubs will sell curated concession kits containing popcorn, collectibles, and other items.

Netflix crackdown on password-sharing coming in 2023

Also this week, Netflix announced that current password-sharing users can ease the transition to the password-sharing crackdown by transferring their profile to a new account.

Viewers who use another person’s Netflix account can migrate their information, including recommendations and viewing history, to a new profile.

In an email to paying customers, Netflix stated that enabling this feature will not sign anyone out of their devices or prevent anyone from using your Netflix account.

The paying subscriber has the authority to enable the account transfer option.

Netflix has stated that it will crack down on password sharing beginning in early 2023.

“We’ve arrived at a deliberate approach to monetizing account sharing,” the world’s largest streaming service said in its quarterly shareholder letter on Tuesday.

“After listening to consumer feedback, we are going to offer the ability for borrowers to transfer their Netflix profile into their own account, and for sharers to manage their devices more easily and to create sub-accounts (‘extra member’), if they want to pay for family or friends.”

The “extra member” add-on will reportedly cost a few dollars per profile.
