Chris Hemsworth’s flaming fist fight is already, Extraction, a Chris Hemsworth action movie, debuted on Netflix in 2020. It’s one of the best Netflix original action films to date and one of the best John Wick-inspired action films, directed by former stuntman Sam Hargrave (something other studios could stand to learn from).
Three years later, the sequel’s trailer has finally been released. And it appears cool.
The Extraction 2 trailer only gives us brief peeks of a few sequences, but it makes the most of them. A fight in what appears to be a snowy jail yard that serves as a prelude for an outstanding action scene stands out. In order to defend a young woman (Tinatin Dalakishvili), Hemsworth’s Tyler Rake raises a flashbang into the air.
The action really picks up when Tyler gets a riot shield and completely destroys some guys wearing armour, using the shield to deflect an approaching Molotov cocktail, before hitting other men while his arm is really on fire.
A brief video clip also shows Hemsworth using a minigun in the snow to shoot down a helicopter. So sure, this film is going to be awesome.
Extraction 2 will be directed once more by Hargrave, and written by Joe Russo (his brother Anthony Russo, who co-wrote the first movie and the graphic novel the movies are based on, is producing). It’s always fantastic to hear that action icon and John Wick sidekick Daniel Bernhardt will be appearing with Hemsworth in this film.
